Gaming Innovation Group Announces Upcoming Board Reconfiguration Amidst Division Strategy

The Gaming Innovation Group is changing its board of directors as part of a new approach to how the company is organized.

The Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has announced that it’s separating its Media and Platform businesses to make them operate better and grow in their markets. Each business will have its own board of directors as part of this change.

GiG Media and Platform welcome new members to their board of directors.

For clarity, here's what's happening:

  • GiG Media maintains the current structure.
  • GiG Platform is branching out, setting up to award shares to existing shareholders.
  • An annual general meeting (AGM) will select GiG Platform’s new board.
  • GiG Media's board will see an update with three new faces.

Most of the current directors will stay on the board of GiG Platform, with Petter Nylander stepping in as the new chair. This change happened after Karolina Pelc decided not to run for another term. The expected lineup for GiG Platform’s board is now set.

  • Petter Nylander, Chair
  • Nicolas Adlercreutz
  • Mikael Riese Harstad
  • Hesam Yazdi
  • Tomasz Juroszek
  • Steve Salmon

The nomination committee has suggested adding three new people to the GiG Media board, with Mikael Riese Harstad as the new chairperson and Hesam Yazdi, who is currently on the board, set to stay on. The suggested lineup for the board is as follows:

  • Mikael Riese Harstad, Chair
  • Hesam Yazdi
  • Cristina Romero de Alba
  • Mateusz Juroszek
  • Nicholas Batram

Qualifications and Roles of Board Members

Cristina Romero de Alba, who is an expert in finance and law, is expected to help GiG Media expand in Latin America. She is a partner at the law firm LOYRA and brings valuable experience in mergers and acquisitions and industry regulations to the company's board.

Mateusz Juroszek has been working in the gambling industry for over 20 years. He's most known for being the boss of STS, the biggest betting company in Poland. Under his guidance, STS grew a lot and was eventually sold. Juroszek personally put money into different gambling ventures and owns more than 19 million shares in GiG, showing his strong involvement in the gambling world.

Nicholas Batram has worked with Entain and recently started his own consultancy, making him very knowledgeable about the gambling industry. He has been involved in deals worth about $10 billion and has spent 30 years working in finance, focusing on the Leisure & Gaming sectors. His skills have been officially recognized, as he was named the top analyst in his area in the Extel Survey.

Upcoming Annual General Meeting

GiG Media will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 22. Board members, who are important for the growth of GiG Media and GiG Platform, will be confirmed during this meeting. Both shareholders and people following the company are paying close attention, wanting to see how this will impact the company's direction in the future.

Changing the structure of the company's departments is vital for the company's plan to divide. It's important that this change is successful because it will help the company compete better in the gaming market. Each department, Media and Platform, now has leaders that understand their distinct goals and the challenges they will face.

GiG plans to change its board to show its commitment to being adaptable and proactive. The company is bringing in new skills and strengthening its management, which will help it succeed as the digital gaming market changes.
