Betfred has incorporated Sharp Gaming into its operations and has named the founder of Sharp Gaming as its Chief Information Officer.

Betfred has purchased Sharp Gaming, a company that works with sports betting and gaming. Andrew Daniels, who created Sharp Gaming, is now the Group Chief Information Officer at Betfred.

Sharp Gaming started in May 2020 when Andrew Daniels founded the company with financial support from the person who created Betfred. Its purpose was to create a special platform to handle sports betting and games just for Betfred.

Betfred has put more than £100 million into a project which has now paid off as Sharp Gaming joins Betfred’s Technology department. They see it as a key step to help Betfred keep on innovating. Andrew Daniels points out his team has worked hard, day and night since December, to make sure their migration was successful.

Before starting his own company, Sharp Gaming, and taking on a role at Betfred, Daniels had already made a mark in the technology field. He established Degree 53 in 2013 and worked with Betfred as their head of mobile. His professional background also includes time spent as a senior developer for IGT and working for Million-2-1 before IGT took it over. In 2021, Daniels sold Degree 53 to Bally’s Corporation to help them improve their online and mobile platforms.

Daniels is leading Betfred’s technology strategies, and with a new platform already set up, people expect even better technology and easier betting for customers soon. This change is a big deal for Betfred and shows how much influence Daniels has in the gaming technology field.
